Objective
The objective was to find the correct brand strategy to manage two ranges of hair care with different distribution strategy and value proportion. I helped Lynn consider all the options for managing her range of natural hair care products and clarify the brand and value proposition before writing a creative brief to refresh the packaging design and accompanying collaterals.
Understanding the brand’s unique selling point, competitors and distribution was critical to helping Lynn clarify meaning for consumers in order to keep recognized brand elements from the brand packaging and create contemporary packaging to support higher price points.
CLYNN By Nature’s inspiring founder, chemist Lynn Yap, spent years perfecting formulas for her natural hair care products - spending a considerable sum on design agencies.
After attending a branding workshop I was able to help Lynn clarify and refine the company’s brand strategy. Lynn’s options where many including either having two distinct brands or create a sub-brand. The final brand management strategy was to create unified but distinct product packaging to better promote the premium positioning.
I helped Lynn source a graphic design agency Studio Realize and write the creative brief to ensure a smooth design process. Once the product packaging was refreshed, supporting collaterals for pop ups and store display were designed.
