Product Photography
I was excited to work with Matesai, a brand with sustainability at it’s heart. The company co-creates apparel, accessories and homeware handmade by ethnic groups across Laos. The founder, Emi Weir travels across the country working with groups that weave, embroider and dye natural textiles. I helped the founder Emi refresh the website in terms of strategy, photography and copy.
Brand Strategy
The brand was challenged with the task of explaining the advantages of 100% European linen and the premium price. First, I helped Nadia explore the different options for the Singapore context. Once the brand message was clarified I then helped Nadia develop a brand message and campaign to visually express the message creatively. This, included organizing a photo shoot, styling, assembling the creative team and producing the shoot by collaborating with Sofitel Sentosa.
Branding & Packaging Design
Lynn Yap spent years perfecting formulas for her natural hair care products. I helped Lynn clarify and refine the company’s market position and develop a strategy to make the two product ranges more distinctive. I also assisted Lynn in writing a creative brief, and found a graphic design agency to develop new packaging and supporting collaterals. A good creative brief saves time and money by ensuring the brand message and premium price points are expressed clearly.
Design Thinking
Wanderlust Hotel, is an architectural treasure - a much-loved period shophouse turned boutique hotel. Newly bought by a property management company, the company considered changing the name. I assembled a team of designers to use Design Thinking as a case study to demonstrate how different design disciplines can work together to propose a distinct value proposition for Singapore’s’ already saturated Hotel scene. We also carried out research to prove the name should be retained. The final proposal demonstrated how a diverse team of creatives can use design to create innovative solutions. The proposed business model future-proofed the property post pandemic.
Artisan Singapore 2019
In order to elevate Singapore-based fashion brands I developed an event that would allow local designers to work with artists and communicate their brands in a different way. The first of its kind in Singapore, the two day event was held at the Tencel™ Studio, Level 2 Cocoon Space at Design Orchard, Singapore. With a team of amazing student volunteers I curated an exhibition of contemporary art, dance, photography and a pop up market.
